Parish Councillor Vacancy    3 April, 2021

Toseland Parish Council has recently lost a long-standing and much valued Parish Councillor, Martine Hardy, because she and her family have now moved away from the village.  Since, in relation to the statutory Notice of Vacancy posted on the website and noticeboard on 18/02/21, there has been no call for an election, the Parish Council would now like to cordially invite residents to volunteer to be co-opted to replace her.

This is a great opportunity to find out more about how local government works at this level, including where that (very small) element of your council tax goes!  It is also an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our own small community, its safety, distinctive character, and to helping organise the excellent parties and events that we all (in normal times) enjoy.

It is not a particularly onerous job, we only have four scheduled meetings a year.  There will, however, be other ad-hoc meetings – mainly concerning the adjudication of planning applications as they come in – these we cannot pre-schedule for obvious reasons.

If you would be interested in applying, please contact me - Pat Dillon, Clerk to Toseland Parish Council, tel.880 351, email p.a.simpson@herts.ac.uk .
